The Institute


The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries.

The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.


In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission.

The role
We are looking for a laboratory technician for the field of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

The technicians will work together with the other team members to provide various kind of NGS services to the users of the CRG Genomics Unit.


About the lab**
Professional experience

Must Have

  • You have two years of relevant laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques

Desirable but not required**- You have previous hands-on experience with NGS library preparation

  • You have experience with Agilent Bioanalyzer, Fragment Analyzer, TapeStation or similar equipment for DNA/RNA analysis
  • You have experience with automated liquid handling systems
  • You have previous handson experience with Illumina sequencing instruments

Education and training

  • You hold a Formació Professional (FP) or B.Sc in molecular biology or a related field

Languages

  • You are fluent in English

Technical skills

  • You have handson experience with relevant molecular biology techniques (e.g. PCR; RT-PCR, qPCR, electrophoresis, DNA/RNA purification)
  • You are familiar with MS Office

Competences

  • You are able to work in a dynamic environment
  • You have a flexible working attitude
