**Context And Mission

The Language Technology Group in the Life Sciences Department is looking for a junior research engineer to work in the use of acoustic information in chatbots, involving Catalan.

This work will be part of the ongoing AINA project to generate technology and language resources for the Catalan language.

**Key Duties

  • Participate in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions
  • Preparation and presentation of scientific articles
  • Collaborate in the preparation and presentation of scientific projects
  • Collaborate with the members of the group in the generation and evaluation of resources in Catalan
**Requirements

  • Education
  • Bachelor in Electronic engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics, with specialization in speech processing and recognition, and background in computation
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Programming skills Linux, Python, git
  • Ability to access and evaluate scientific literature
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience Native competence in Catalan
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Strong interest in Speech and Natural Language Processing
  • Competences
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
