OW a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie is looking for an autonomous and analytical " Head of International Markets & Regulation ".

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Perform the Energy Markets and Regulation assessments for geographies where the company is already present and for potential new countries. Design analyses to substantially influence major decisions in terms of bid preparation, investment decisions, international growth and business plan definition.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• REGULATORY AFFAIRS AND ADVOCACY TASKS – Support policy makers in shaping the regulatory framework for offshore wind. Define the company's position on different regulatory aspects. Participate in public consultations and represent the company in national and global-level industry associations.
• MARKET ANALYSES – Monitor the regulatory and electricity market environment in current company's geographies and at supranational level, with special focus in understanding the regulatory framework and the route to market options for offshore wind. Define and model the whole remuneration side of the current assets, bids, potential new investments and selldown transactions, budget and business plan. Including potential incentives, power prices, guarantees of origin, renewable energy certificates and macroeconomic variables.
• INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – Screening, selection and prioritization of countries with potential for offshore wind considering energy and economic fundamentals. Design of the market strategy for entering new countries to ensure compliance with company's growth strategy.
• ANALYSES OF TECHNOLOGY EVOLUTION – Analysis of the competitive situation of current and innovative technologies: cost evolution (LCOE, learning rate), potential growth, match with offshore wind and geographical areas where they may become attractive.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Energy, Civil), Business Administration or equivalent.

LANGUAGES

Fluent in English; fluent in Spanish is valued

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

At least 8 years of experience in management consulting firm, energy planning or regulation area of an industrial company or renewable energy association. Experience in the renewable energy business.

KNOWLEDGE

Broad knowledge of the energy sector, experience in forecasting, energy consulting, market modelling or related experience is highly valued. Demonstrate good business acumen and be able to focus on the commercial implications of insights obtained through research. Experience producing analysis/modelling for the power sector or comparable market.

SKILLS

Strong sense of curiosity and keen interest in problem solving; willing to take the initiative and ownership of the delivery of work. Good communication skills: ability to communicate insights through discussions, reports, and presentations.
