Sheet Metal Worker, Temporary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES

Constructs, repairs, and modifies structural systems metal, building. Possess knowledge of planning, fabricating, and repairing components of buildings, utility systems, and real property equipment.
Working knowledge is mandatory of: building maintenance,, metal structures compatible products to be combined in composite systems, methods of preparing various surfaces for finishing, locking devices, composition, characteristics, and identification of common commercial grade metals, construction grade metal requirements, types and uses of metal hardware, methods of forming and cutting metals, metal fabrication and repair, welding processes, metal layout, shop drawings, metal measurement and layout devices, cutting equipment, gas and arc welding equipment, safety procedures and practices, and environmental concerns and safety precautions required in using, storing and disposing of hazardous material.
Be adaptable to be able to carry out other types of work by attending the workshops that make up the department (Mason, carpenter, paint)
Responsible for other assigned associated duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred:

Experience of at least 5 years in the tasks request

The physical requirement of the position includes light lifting of up to 30 kilograms, for heavy lifting up to 50 kilograms, heavier items proper handling equipment is utilized.

Moderate exposure to skill includes dust, wide temperature range, noise, vibrations, fumes, harsh chemicals, odors, pollens and grasses, grease, machinery and moving parts, sitting and driving for long periods, bending, stooping, on knees, both indoors and outdoors, and inclement weather, with occasional exposure to hazardous work conditions.

Employee must be able to see and hear, with or without correction, and properly communicate verbally and in written form.

Qualifications:

Be in possession of the driver's license "B" and desirable "C-1" Minimum technical school completion or equivalent. Must have ability to communicate in native language Must have English Reading Level II, Written Level II, Verbal Level II,

Skills:

Must have abilities to correctly utilize power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work

Must have knowledge of building and equipment maintenance/repair technique

Must have excellent written communications skills

Must possess excellent time management skills

Must have excellent oral communications skills

Must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks

Must have excellent organizational skills

Must be able to work well with other technicians and tradesman
