What you'll be doing:

Master the dynamics of tutors/learners interaction and the economics of Preply's marketplace;
Produce thorough data analytics of customer behavior and product usage, effectively communicating them to technical and nontechnical audiences;
Work on building an ML delivery platform at scale;
Support delivery of our predictive solutions;
Give advice or leading architecture decisions about ML delivery, feature stores and other related functionality;
Quantify the impact of new product features and initiatives in order to identify growth opportunities and help prioritize our roadmap;
Design, execute and evaluate experiments on a global scale;
Contribute to the development of analytics libraries and frameworks;
Collaborate with the Data Strategy team to define standards and best practices as well as sharing knowledge and capabilities across the team;
Participate in the definition of tracking events, engagement metrics and key performance indicators;
Build relationships and collaborate with other data and/or technical leaders;
Support the technical growth of data scientists in your team or area of speciality;
Be a flexible data leader across the whole product spectrum;
Partner with the team's Product Manager to refine product initiatives into lean, experimentled technical implementations;
Work with the Data Engineering team to model data in our Data Warehouse and productionize your data pipelines;
Work closely with our BI experts to develop effective data visualizations, reports and dashboards.

What you need to succeed:

Experience as a Senior Data Scientist (5+ years' experience);
Good and broad understanding of data analysis concepts such as (but not limited to) conversion, LTV, cohort analysis, retention, etc.;
Strong curiosity, problem solving and problem _finding_ skills;
Creative mindset and proactive attitude towards the creation and evaluation of new hypotheses;
Experience with A/B testing frameworks;
Knowledge of quantitative fields (statistics, mathematics, etc.);
Previous exposure to machine learning platforms such as PySpark, H2O, databricks or similar;
Have mentored others before;
High level of selforganization, ownership, and responsibility;
Good written and verbal communication skills. B2 English level is a must.

Nice to have:

Masters degree or PhD in physics, statistics, econometrics, or a relevant field of applied mathematics (or equivalent business experience);
Previous experience in Marketplaces and/or digital businesses (B2B, B2C, B2B2C);
Knowledge of Looker, Amplitude, Databricks or other BI tools;
Knowledge of version controlling tools (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
