Job Description:

Responsible for specifically addressing groundwater—water moving through openings in rock and soil layers beneath the land surface.


The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Works as part of a ground and tunnelling engineering team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India.). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.
  • Fully qualified scientist. Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
  • Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Hydrogeologist with proven track record of working on ground and mining engineering designs and collaborating with international and multicultural teams (+5 years) for Environmental, Industrial, Civil and Mining Projects.
  • Experience in GIS and the use of LEAPFROG for geological modelling.
  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
  • Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Bachelor or Master degree in MIning/Geological Engineering from a recognised University
