Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team as a propulsion expert. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering with strong applied skills and an aptitude for leading small teams and projects. This role involves supporting the propulsion and vehicle teams by leading mechanical design projects through the entire design life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design projects for aerospace components and systems from conceptual phase through manufacturing to integration and testing.
• Generate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration, and testing.
• D deliver technical documentation including any engineering calculations, analysis, and assumptions required to substantiate design decisions and solutions.
• Prepare and participate in design reviews.
• Manage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing technical questions and resolving issues during the manufacturing process.
• Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment, and consumables following best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess a BSc or MSc degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or technician qualifications with substantial experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry is also required. Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, excellent CAD and PLM skills, and proficiency in Siemens tool suite: NX, and TeamCenter PLM system are essential. Experience with metallic and composite structures design, hydraulics, fuel systems, and component design are beneficial but not necessary.
