Product and mechanical design engineer mission:

Celestica is a Canadian company, world leader in the electronic manufacturing sector and is looking for a Product and Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take on the amazing challenge of become part of our corporate design team based in Valencia.


With this opportunity, you will become one of our key members of our development team, brining value from your experience, proposing solutions and alternatives aimed to overcome different design challenges across multifunctional development projects and gathering the opportunity to grow and unlock all your potential.

**Your day
- to-day activities will include**You will be responsible for mechanical design and/or industrial concept as well as to build verification of new products and systems, including understanding basic product requirements, 2D and 3D modelling, materials selection, process design and selection, GD&T, risk analysis, Design for Manufacturing/Assembly analysis, etc


Building of the needed prototypes for design verification and the development of the tools and documental routines making use of the adequate laboratory instruments and equipment would also be one of the challenges that you will face in this role.

The Design and Engineering Services department in Celestica Valencia is specialized in the development of new products and electronic systems for both its customers (mostly international) and the production line within the factory.


The main differentiator in Valencia facilities are its design capabilities and the various engineering services that it can provide to its customers, creating a differential value beyond the regular electronic manufacturing services.

The plant in Valencia focuses its activities in the Aerospace, Industrial and Healthcare areas, producing and assembling high complexity products.


The D&ES team is composed by more than 25 specialist engineers: electronics, software, mechanicsthat, in the end, build a multiskilled team able to carry on (almost) any kind of development projects.


The areas in which these projects are developed are mainly related with healthcare and in-vitro diagnosis, industrial, aerospace and test development.

What do we expect from you?

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of 2D and 3D design tools such as Solidworks.
  • Proven experience on plastic parts manufacturing processes (injection) and plastic working processes.
  • Design calculations and simulations: FEA, thermal analysis, GD&T, tolerance and clearance (statistical process variation in production), stress, fatigue, etc.
  • Ability to create detailed drawings suitable for production and to structure Bill of Materials
  • Experience in part design including snaps and inserts.
  • Knowledge prototyping (machining, silicon molding, etc) and 3D printing.
  • Knowledge of plastic and metal manufacturing processes and material selection.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Passionate about designing robust products with a high degree of quality and reliability.
  • Experience in the design and architecture of electromechanical products is an asset.
  • Previous experience in robotics is an asset.
  • Previous experience with fluidics/microfluidics is an asset.

What are we looking for?
