Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent

  • Working experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
  • Working experience as Project Manager of medium complex projects
  • Proficiency in planning and analysis tools: Excel & Microsoft Project
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools: AutoCAD
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders to deliver a project including external vendors
  • Experience in the commissioning of automated machinery and entire systems
  • Experience in working with analysis tools for KPI reporting (i.e. PowerBI or similar)
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma analytical and process improvement techniques
  • Written and spoken proficiency in Spanish language

Amazon is looking to hire an innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Project Engineering Manager that can drive innovation, standardization and expansion in the Amazon logistics (AMZL) network.

As a member of the Spanish Field Engineering team you will be responsible for managing a broad range of exciting deployment projects including new launches, Automated solutions, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) re-layouts and other building retrofit improvements.

This role requires ~60% of traveling.

Key job responsibilities

  • Managing projects related to the deployment of engineering solutions in delivery stations of Spanish Amazon Logistics (AMZL) network
  • Owning projects including greenfield launches, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) relayouts, retrofits of automated solutions and other building improvements
  • Leading the full project lifecycle from equipment ordering, layout validation, vendor coordination and project plan finalisation to installation works management, vendor commissioning, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) completion and handover to internal customers
  • Interacting with different functions to provide trade off solutions that satisfy potential conflicts and deliver as per guidelines
  • Validating stakeholder designs and customer requirements and providing feedback in a timely manner to resolve technical deficiencies and maintain schedules
  • Identifying inefficiencies of processes or standards within the allocated country or at European level and proactively leading improvements with the relevant teams
A day in the life

You will manage execution of engineering projects in AMZL delivery stations primarily across Spain and EU if required.

Your day could include engaging within the organization or with vendors to execute as per guidelines, attending the site to monitor progresses on a daily basis, resolving technical deficiencies to maintain schedule and delivering as per standards.

You will optimise and simplify to remove bottlenecks and make sure the project is delivered on time, budget and quality as set up by program and finally celebrating in the successful launch of the projectDay One for all of us

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with working within Logistics Automated environment
  • Strong analytical and data driven skills
  • Clear and concise in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to communicate across an increasing diversity of areas (i.e. legal, Operations, Finance, Safety, regulatory, external industry groups, etc.)
  • Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and on Peak periods
