    Job Description:
    We are seeking a seasoned and data driven Director of Product to lead our CDP team.

    As the steward of our CDP product, you will be instrumental in creating a vision as well as shaping the strategic direction of our Customer Data Platform and its interface with the business.

    We are looking for a results-driven professional who can bridge the gap between business requirements, marketing workflow and technical implementation.

    Join our innovative team and play a pivotal role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering features that enhance our CDP, ensuring optimal customer experiences across our other GDP products like Consent Management, Identity, Single-Sign-On, CDP backend and consumer experience products through CMS and DAM.

    Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Director of Product for our CDP product, you will be responsible for leading the CDP vision, strategy, product development, rollout and delivery of the CDP product.

    You'll be responsible for overseeing the translation of the business requirements from various brands and divisions within Mars Petcare by setting the product and technical direction and lead the team in rolling out CDP capabilities and partnering very closely with the marketing teams within each brand and division of Mars Petcare.

    Your role involves providing overall leadership, ensuring stakeholder management, product development, product rollout across all brands and divisions and delivery to align technical solutions with business goals.

    This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the vision of our CDP product, delivering a comprehensive data platform to enable personalization use cases across our ecosystem.


    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Lead and guide the CDP team by establishing a product vision and drive the strategy by sharing the business context and assist in business led, technology supported capability buildout using a combination of the chosen best in class CDP solution/tool and building in house services based CDP backend.
    -Act as an opinionated product leader focused on delivering product outcomes to the business and marketing teams and drive key decisions for the CDP to deliver Petcare OGSM 2030 strategy and use cases at scale; you will be constantly negotiating with multiple heavyweight Petcare Global and divisional stakeholders to gain alignment -Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with other GDP product leaders and their teams consisting of tech product leads, architects, product and engineering leads, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of the business context, vision, strategy as well as supporting technical concepts and code-level execution of the agreed software architecture -Lead both the CDP frontend and the CDP backend team and drive the design and continuous enhancement /optimization of the CDP architecture, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability to meet business requirements. -Implement and promote Agile development methodologies within the team, including sprint planning, regular code reviews, and the use of project management tools. -Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth within the team. Provide mentorship to junior developers and contribute to their skill development. -Lead & implement quality assurance processes to ensure software reliability, security, and compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, CCPA etc. -Staying updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in backend development. -You and your CORE CDP Front-end as well as CDP Back-end teams will be working closely to deliver some key functional capabilities via optimal BUILD /BUY combinationto deliver CDP use cases at scale across divisions and within divisions; such as following a)Ingestion from source systems Ingestion and consolidation of data from multiple heterogeneous data sources in both batch and real time, with data validation capabilities which ensure key objects adhere to strict norms to protect downstream processes from consequences of bad data b)CDP ID Generation, de-duplication, and merging Ability to generate unique, immutable IDs at multiple hierarchy levels (ex. household, owner, pet) & the ability to do deduplication/merging with strict custom rules validated by Mars legal. c)Data / Profile Export Real time, single, complete/360-degree export to querying systems (such as a CMS-powered brand website requesting a customer's profile to display order history in an online MyAccount or customer service platform requesting a profile to pull up veterinary visit history for a care agent on call with a customer) d)Audience Export Direct export of a segment/audience to a downstream activating platform (social media, digital advertising, marketing automation...) for the execution/orchestration of a communication campaign across multiple channels/surfaces simultaneously. e)Derived Properties Based on raw data, standardized calculation of key attributes which will serve to enrich profiles as well as provide new variables to serve in segmentation/audience creation purposes.

    (ex:

    calculation of age from birthdate) f)Clickstream integration Ingestion of online activity and merging of this data with customer information from other sources where customer identity can be resolved and matched d)Rules based segmentation Creation of segments or audiences based on custom rules or sets of customized rules used in conjunction with Boolean operators e)ML based segmentation Creation of segments or audiences based on custom machine learning algorithms f)Audience build via no code GUI Ability for business users to create segments/audiences on the fly using an easy-to-use GUI.

    d)Profile data storage Persistent storage of customer profiles and associated data in line with a variety of data privacy regulation (data storage location, retention rules, etc.) e)Marketing analytics Ability to provide custom, easy to use, actionable analytics of performance of marketing activities orchestrated by the CDP.

    f)Monitoring Performance monitoring of the platform, end-to-end, including monitoring of the data value chain managed by the CDP

    (ex:

    total records ingested, total records rejected from each source and why, through to total audience volumes, etc.) in order to enable best in class data governance processes and support both rapid resolution of data issues and continuous improvement of data quality. g) Decisioning Real-time decisioning capabilities such as next best action to support a broad range of use cases seeking to optimize key outcomes.

    Education & Professional QualificationsA degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field provides a solid foundation for understanding both business requirements and technical aspects.

    15+ years of hands-on experience in leading product/engineering and implementing scalable software systems
    Proven experience in solution architecture, particularly in designing and implementing CDP solutions and integrating with identity providers

    MUST HAVE In-depth understanding of Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and their significance in managing and leveraging customer data for business insights.

    Proven experience of building and rolling out CDP capabilities across large organization in a global capacity.
    Demonstrated leadership skills, including providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering effective collaboration within development teams.

    NICE TO HAVE Experience in API integration and understanding of RESTful APIs, as well as the ability to design architectures that facilitate smooth communication between systems.

    Knowledge of cloud-based data services and experience in integrating SaaS based CDP solutions within cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

    Understanding of regulatory frameworks related to data privacy and security, such as GDPR and CCPA, and the ability to design solutions that ensure compliance.

    Prior hands-on coding knowledge of JAVA and Javascript (ex developer turned Architect/Lead is preferred)

    Knowledge of security standards and best practices related to identity and access management, including encryption, tokenization, and secure transmission of authentication data.

    Familiarity with CDP solutions like Salesforce, Treasure Data, HighTouch, and the ability to integrate them securely within the overall architecture, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.

    Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business units to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
