What you'll do:


Reporting to our Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Project Delivery Services (PDS) is a key member of our executive leadership team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Northland's portfolio of projects is planned, managed, governed and delivered in a consistent, transparent, and disciplined manner across the globe utilizing corporate standards and guidance to be developed by the PDS.

In addition, for projects for which the PDS is accountable for project delivery, you will ensure that project scope, plans and timelines, budgets, and project resources are allocated effectively across our portfolio of development and construction projects in offshore wind, onshore renewables, and hydrogen as well as other projects as required.

In service to the executive leadership team and the board, you will also be responsible for construction project portfolio reporting and delivering recommendations regarding project advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop overall individual project and portfolio management strategies aimed at delivering projects in a cost effective, predictable, and consistent manner
  • Establish and implement appropriate bestinclass project standards and guidance, procedures, and tools to enable a high level of project controls, facilitating early identification of execution risks and deviations to plans in order that mitigation efforts can be employed
  • Develop and implement a quality assurance program to gauge compliance with specified project management standards; ensure project "health checks" are carried out to assess the robustness of each phase of a project's development
  • Define and implement standard project and portfolio reporting metrics capable of delivering realtime status and forecast information on costs, schedules, and risk to provide consistent, accurate and timely management and boardlevel reporting
  • Work with Project Directors to develop project roadmaps that align with business priorities and take into account resource availability
  • Partner with HSE team to ensure a robust health and safety program is embedded in all aspects of project delivery
  • In conjunction with the broader executive leadership team, review and assess potential business opportunities in terms of strategic fit, execution risks and opportunities
  • Provide project support to the BU's and rest of the organization as requested including for projects for which the PDS may not be accountable for project delivery
  • Lead, develop and mentor a high performing team of project management professionals

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of eighteen (18) years of relevant experience in either Program, Project or Portfolio Management
  • Bachelor's degree with a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
  • Project Manag
