IDIBELL is looking for a Bioinformatics Technician**
About the research group
"Unitat de Gestió Funcional de les Dades" continuously works on the improvement of medical care through the use of high-quality data and information.


Abaut the role

Coordination and participation in the project of semi-automated surveillance of surgical infections at 3 hospitals of the VINCAT network (including Bellvitge), collaboration with the IT service for a correct data extraction from the electronic clinical history and participate in the validation and implementation of predictive algorithms to predict infection rates
.


We are searching a data-driven professional with skills in data extraction, management, quality and analysis, in order to give support to clinical work and research.

You will play a role in clinical and technological-research projects based on the use of data: management and treatment, analysis and presentation of clinical and epidemiologic results.

Under the scope of the "Semi-automated surveillance of healthcare-associated infections" project, you will take part on the creation/validation of algorithms to automatize the surveillance of surgical site infections acquired during the hospitalization.

Education and training

  • CFGS oriented towards data management in clinical environments and data analysis
Technical & soft skills

  • Comprehension of clinical and health environments
  • Experience in data management, data process and data analysis
  • Proficient in Office Package, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python or R programming languages
  • Proficient communication skills with technical and clinical profiles
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team, decided, and with good organizational and learning skills
Languages

  • Proficient of the Catalan and Spanish languages
  • Good command of the English language

We will value, but not required

  • Previous professional experience in similar work positions
  • Knowledge of research projects
  • Expertise in data management, data harmonization, data quality control, and data analysis
  • Previous experience in statistical methods applied to research
  • Knowledge of Bussines Intelligence Tools (BI/PowerBI) or DashBoard tools
