    Job Title: Process Chemist

    Company: Global Life Science Hub

    We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) for the role of Process Chemist within their innovative Process Development department. This organization provides comprehensive development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on process development, chemical synthesis, and large-scale production.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform laboratory work focused on chemical process development.
    • Design synthetic pathways and conduct experiments to evaluate the scalability of chemical processes for manufacturing.
    • Assess and propose alternative synthetic routes, considering chemical complexity, cost-efficiency, intellectual property, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) factors.
    • Use advanced analytical methods to monitor reaction progress and ensure product quality.
    • Collaborate proactively with the Analytical Development team to drive improvements in process design.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring project goals and milestones are met.

    Requirements:

    • A degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; Spanish language skills are desirable but not mandatory, with a commitment to achieving at least B1 level.
    • Able to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
    • Self-motivated, with a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
    • Strong organizational skills, with a focus on safety and compliance.
    • Commercially aware, with a customer-focused mindset and strong IT skills.

    Desirable Experience:

    • Experience in the fine chemicals industry or a CDMO environment is highly valuable.
    • Hands-on experience in chemical synthesis and process development.
    • Proficiency with analytical techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).
    • Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies.
    • Ability to conduct effective literature searches using tools like SciFinder.
