Laboratory Technician, for histological processing /

Pathology Technician (AP)

Clinical Biochemistry, Drug Delivery & Therapy (CB-DDT)
VHIR offers a vacant for a laboratory technician with experience in tissue processing (fixation, inclusion), sectioning and

staining.

Clinical Biochemistry, Drug Delivery & Therapy (CB-DDT) group. FVPR/U20 is a technological platform conducting and

developing customized assays for the preclinical development of novel diagnostic or therapeutic compounds. FVPR/U20


is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis (Unit 20), and therefore, the incorporated technician will be also linked to this platform.

Her/his work will be oriented to process all services entering the Preclinical Histology section of FVPR/U20, as well as

giving support to the In vivo and In vitro Sections. FVPR/U20 works in an ISO9001:2015 certified environment, meaning

Experience and knowledge:


Required:
-

5 years minimum experience in routine histological processing, from tissue fixation, to inclusion, sectioning and

staining.

  • Experience in Quality Management Systems, specifically with ISO9001 standards
  • Lab management skills (analytical, organizational and time management).
  • Good computer skills, especially in MS Office

Desired:
-

Good level of English (E2 level B2 or equivalent)

  • Basic knowledge and experience in tissue culturing
  • We are looking for a person who has a proven handson attitude, flexible and adaptable. Additionally, the

  • Proactivity (ability to work independently when necessary)
  • Wellorganized and responsible person at work

Main responsibilities and duties:
-

Conduct all techniques and procedures at the Preclinical Histology section of FVPR/U20 by
- collecting, fixing and processing biological samples
- sectioning of paraffin-embedded blocs
- preforming regular staining and immunohistochemistry procedures in obtained sections

  • Data registry and preliminary reporting.
