_ Senior Rail Systems Engineer_

Responsibilities:


  • Lead designs, specifications, technical proposals and investigations and completing reports as author, checker and or approver
  • Responsible for site surveys and draft condition assessment reports
  • Lead crossdisciplinary work enabling Arup to produce fully integrated and workable designs using the latest software tools and techniques
  • Works independently with mínimal supervision
  • Leads complex functions or teams
  • Responsible for deliverables and time and quality expectations of the Rail Systems and Operations team with the production, checking and coordination of designs for Signalling, Electrical, Telecommunication, Rolling Stock and Operations disciplines
  • Teaches teams to connect their solutions to bigger picture issues
  • Plans continued professional development for self and others, deepening own specialisation
Current Projects/Skills and attributes needed

  • Having an accredited Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Railway Systems Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Have an established career in the Rail industry with a minimum of 10years experience and a desire to contribute toward the development of sustainable transport
  • Detail oriented and having good written and oral communication skills
  • An ability to work cooperatively with other team members and clients in pressure situations to deliver the best outcome
  • A problem solving and goal orientated attitude
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to successful completion.
  • Ability and confidence to deal directly with clients managing deadlines, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Demonstrable track record of successful projects
