The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Unit Manager for its Innovation and Valorization Unit (CSOL).


Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that ICIQ's safety rules are followed in the laboratories.
  • Planning and managing the resources needed (researchers & budget) for the correct performance of the projects, including personnel selection and investment in new equipment.
  • Leading and/or supporting the writing of projects from competitive calls at all levels (regional, national and international).
  • Collaborating with ICIQ's Group Leaders and other research staff to plan and coordinate valorization activities, and being actively aware of ICIQ's research results.
  • Study the scientific feasibility of internal and external projects through the evaluation of the scientific literature and related Intellectual Property.
  • Preparation of quotations for industrial clients.
  • Promotion of ICIQ's technologies to potential clients.
  • Writing scientific reports for clients.

Requirements:


  • Ph.
D. in Chemistry, with preference in Organic or Inorganic disciplines.

  • Experience in reaction scaleup and process chemistry, with a demonstrable track record of at least 3 years.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken), and (at least) understanding of Catalan, is required.
  • Good capacity to perform retrosynthetic analysis, and a creative mind.
  • Good knowledge in the use of analytical techniques to characterize organic compounds, polymers and materials.

We offer

  • A fulltime, permanent employment contract.
  • Remuneration according to individual's qualifications/experience.
  • Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
