About the role


What you need to know:


The Financial Lines Claims Adjuster has to deal with a mixed case load of financial lines claims including Professional Indemnity (PI) and Directors and Officers Liability, (D&O) EPL and management liability from notification through to resolution of claims.

Role will be client facing and in addition to coverage, legal liability and quantum analysis, will include interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers and internal stakeholders.


To handle Line of Business (Financial Lines) portfolio of claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment (where relevant) and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution; ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.


Able to handle and investigate all claims in accordance with company standards and procedures and demonstrate accurate and timely reserving.

Managing claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment.

Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment/handling and actively promote Claims Handling Values.


Support the Financial Lines Claims Manager and claims team on an ongoing basis and work closely with underwriters providing feedback on claims issues, wording and market trends.

Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims on a consistent basis in line with company' internal requirements.

Strengthen good relationships with internal and external customers and drive excellent customer service.


What we're looking for:

Strong experience and knowledge as a specialist in Complex Financial Lines technical claims topics

Law degree preferred

Fluent in English

A strong knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements

Experience in negotiation, mediation and arbitration

Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation

Result driven

Attention to detail

Good time management and priorization skills.
