Operations Assistant

Job Summary
This rolehelpsinstall, maintain and repair Survitec safety solutions.

It operates all tools, machineryand equipment safely and to Survitec standard; cleanswork area, machines, and tools; and assistsother Survitec manufacturing, production or service colleagues.

Duties and responsibilities

Operates various equipment and machinerysafely as part of a manufacturing production lineor service operation; prepares and adjusts tools, machinery or equipment under general supervisionand according to training
Transfers tools, parts, equipment and supplies to and from workstations and other areas; orders new parts according to standard stock management process to maintain inventory. Prepares workstations for use by production colleagues, mechanics or service technicians
Examines and tests machinery, equipment, components and parts for defects to ensure proper working order. Diagnoses mechanical or electrical problems and carries out repairs such as rewiring according to personal training or qualification
Moves and positions vehicles, machinery, equipment or physical structures for assembly or installation using hand tools, power tools and moving equipment
Cleans or lubricates vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools or work areas using hand tools, power tools andcleaning equipment to operational and safety standards.
Carriesout operational tasks to Survitec standard, ensuring work is completed right first time and flagging any instances of variation or failure to qualified colleagues
Carriesout installation tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete those allocated tasks
Helpsto maintain and repair equipment and appliances by carrying out standard preparation, inspection or maintenance tasks, following strictand detailed instruction
Supportsthe quality function by working within strict quality standardsand helping to identify instances of noncompliance, so that problemsolving and corrective action can be taken
Accurately followswork instructions, including the use of personal protectiveequipment where relevant, to support a safe working and the wellbeing of self and othersParticipating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching

Experience and qualification

Educated to High School level with 2 GCSEs or equivalent

Some experience of operating complex machinery is desirable, but not necessary as full training is provided

No management experience is required for this role
