We are currently seeking a Principal Cloud backend Engineer/Architect to join our JLL Technologies Smart buildings team.

This role will be working closely with Envio team.
What this job involves
As a Principal Cloud Backend Engineer/Architect at JLL Technologies, you will:

Responsibilities and scope of work:

Collaborate with product and engineering teams in product design, problem-solving and process improvements (be fully functioning member of an agile team).

Develop high-level implementation specifications, be it internal components or external integrations.
Troubleshoot the system, identifying weaknesses and target areas.
Communicate ideas, concepts and guidelines to the engineering team.
Work on existing and new software implementations.
Write and maintain unit tests.
Review pull requests.
Ensure software meets all quality, security, modifiability and extensibility requirements.
Provide technical guidance and coaching to less senior engineers.
Work closely with team lead and product owner on aspects of product and team management.
Be the team lead's right hand person.
Communicate ideas, concepts and guidelines to stakeholders.

Minimum requirements include:

8 years as a backend engineer/architect.
Excellent understanding of Python, Poetry, Django, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Celery, MQTT, Kubernetes and Docker.
Excellent understanding of software engineering concepts, data structures and large/complex systems.
Experience in AWS and/or Azure.
Experience in CI/CD and Jenkins (or a similar tool).
Excellent understanding of GIT.
Experience in IoT and/or BMS.
Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities and attention to details.
Ability to quickly understand requirements and issues and come up with solutions.
Ability to stay constructive and positive in hard situations.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Ability to successfully communicate ideas, concepts and guidelines.
Experience in guidance and coaching of less senior engineers.
Experience in agile.

Nice to have:

Experience in time-series databases (especially TimescaleDB).
Experience in NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB).
