The Water Consultancy Division is the centre of excellence within Mott MacDonald for responding to water and wastewater challenges, providing support to colleagues across our global business, and offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work.- Climate change, aging assets, and population growth place increasing pressure on our water and wastewater assets.

Our Water Consultancy Division has ambitious growth plans in line with AMP8 investment needs and we are proud of our strong reputation in the industry which is allowing us to expand our business.- We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Wastewater Network Modeller to join our team in Spain to support our UK clients.

You will be a driven individual experienced in wastewater modelling, and have the desire to evolve within Mott MacDonald, whilst playing a key role in mentoring and leadership of others.

You will be able to operate in a management capacity and proactively lead projects in delivering successful outcomes.- As a Principal Modeller, you would be responsible for technical leadership, taking on management responsibilities and influencing modelling strategy both within Mott MacDonald and with specific clients.

- Typical duties would include:

Leading flood alleviation, environmental studies and Unsatisfactory Intermittent Discharge (UID)/Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) projects
Leading model build, model maintenance, and verification projects
Leading the development of survey specifications
Writing reports and preparing presentation materials and leading and reviewing the completion of these deliverables by less experienced staff
Project management, including managing resources, budgets and programmes and coordinating with other disciplines
Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development
Working in close partnership with clients and Joint Venture partners, representing the company in technical and consortia meetings
Driving continuous improvement in project delivery
Involvement in bidding opportunities contributing to technical and commercial submissions.

- Required skills and experience:

Demonstrable experience in the water industry, preferably with multiple Clients. Proven experience of model build, verification, solution development and CSO / water quality analysis.
Experience in managing projects, leading teams and development of people.
Expertise in use of InfoWorks ICM, as well as GIS packages
Good collaboration and communication skills, able to enter into technical discussions in a logical and coherent fashion in bo
