    Senior PSA Engineer for External Events - Spain

    Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are working on a safe and clean energy source through nuclear fission, known as the SMR-300 small modular reactor. The SMR-300 is a nuclear power plant designed with passive systems inside containment to ensure the reactor's safety without operator intervention. It is a 'walk away safe' design suitable for small power plant markets looking to transition to clean energy and integrate with grids containing renewable capacity. The successful PSA Engineer for External Events will be part of a team designing the SMR-300 plant as part of SMR LLC, a subsidiary of Holtec International.

    The PSA Engineer for External Events role involves supporting safety analysis evaluations of the SMR-300 plant during its design and construction phases, collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers and designers. Responsibilities include performing external events analyses, developing databases, fault tree modeling, and contributing to technical documentation.

    Specific Areas of Responsibility:

    • Execute key PSA activities as part of the multinational team
    • Understand the SMR-300 design and safety features
    • Collaborate with team members to identify design improvements
    • Provide risk analysis input to system designers
    • Develop PSA methodologies for internal and external events
    • Support engineering and licensing documentation
    • Hold a degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field
    • 5-10+ years of experience in PSA modeling
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Attention to detail and production of error-free documents
    • Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810

    Optional Additional Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field
    • Experience in nuclear design or operation
    • Knowledge of CAFTA, MELCOR, RELAP, and other computer codes
    • Experience in Thermal-Hydraulic Analysis and Component Reliability Analysis
    • Specialty experience in various PSA areas
    • Minimum 5-10 years of PSA experience, with specialty experience for Senior positions
