    EMEA Interim Payroll Expert

    Position Location:

    Barcelona, Spain

    Primary Function:

    Support the payroll aggregator migration and the payroll role migration to EMEA, defining and documenting the payroll processes for the Region. Provide expertise on local compliance.

    Key Accountabilities

    Business

  • Provide expertise on the oversee of the end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, helping to adapt procedures to the Region according to regulations and compliance.
  • Define the workflow to address employee payroll inquiries and be the link with key stakeholders to address issues related to compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Support the migration and implementation across EMEA of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology, and supporting discovery sessions with key partners.
  • Share best practices to review workflows to validate payroll inputs, including employee data, timesheets, benefits, and deductions, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide expertise and best practice to manage payroll data integrity and maintain employee records in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Explores opportunities to simplify and automate processes to ensure maximum cost-efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops and documents procedural improvements.
  • Develop and/or delivery training related to payroll and culture awareness.

  • Drive consistency in end-to-end payroll process supporting improved efficiencies/compliance and standardization.
  • Knowledge, Skills,

    and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of international experience in the sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with automated Payroll systems and utilizing a third-party payroll provider.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate high standards of customer service and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong analytical and math skills to identify issues and problem solve.
  • Critical thinker to identify areas of improvement and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, information and documents and assess reasonableness.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills using pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • English and Spanish. Other European languages are a plus.
  • Nice to have:

  • Experience using UKG PRO and Workforce Dimensions
  • Manufacturing payroll is a plus.
