Finance Assistant Position located in DHL Supply Chain Valencia Center of Excellence.

This position is responsible of performing the required accounting tasks.

Support to Operation Team, including FB&A for the NVOCCs and custom clearance invoices, calculation of required tariffs, liaison with buyers and invoicing to the Customer.


Main responsibilities.

  • Ensuring all invoices are received and audited in a timely manner on behalf of the customer
  • Proactively resolve queries on site with other departments in a timely manner
  • Reconciliation of carrier statements
  • Ownership of rejection log and dashboard to display position
  • Support Finance Manager in building analysis and reports
  • To ensure Freight Billing and Audit function maintains high standards and strive to continually improve processes
  • To ensure all internal and applicable customer policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure financial systems are updated with latest customer and suppliers key data
  • Manage local Purchase Ledger activities including raising, tracking, receipting and reporting on orders for the Operations.
  • Manage Invoice activities in P&L and reporting on invoice logs
  • Ensure all invoices are raised and sent to the customer
  • Supporting the Fin Manager with budgeting and forecasting
  • Collation of weekly and monthly financial reports for the Operations in accordance with requirements.
  • Manage debtor reporting and escalation of issues
  • Support the Finance Manager in the production and analysis of customer financial data
  • Provide financial reporting, guidance and controls to the operational business owners of the Operations.
  • Ensure customer and suppliers are managed seemlessly in line with financial guidelines
  • Ensure sales, purchase and general ledgers are controlled in line with company procedures
  • Raise cost allocation journals at period end
  • Implement and manage financial FB&A KPIs for the Operations
  • Support cost reporting for the Operations and cost control actions
  • Provide holiday and absence cover for the Finance Manager based at the site

Requirements for the Job

Mandatory:

  • Fluent english
  • P&L experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel inc pivots
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Comfortable working with multicurrency
  • Good all around knowledge of Logistics principles and practices
  • Responsibility for accounting for multiple sites/contracts
  • Fully conversant with Open / Closed Book reporting

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with supply chain and logistics function
