The Role:

Sr.

Associate, Trade Operations & Compliance - OUS collaborates with Global Operations & Compliance to ensure that Moderna meets the requirements for importing/exporting goods.

You will perform a range of moderate-to-complex activities using comprehensive trade compliance operations knowledge.


Here's What You'll Do:

Work as part of the Trade Operations & Compliance team.

Support Senior members of the team in general compliance related activities.

Independently solve moderately complex issues with mínimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Coordinate global trade and compliance operations within a country or region to meet business goals.

Ensure compliance with the home and foreign country government laws and customs regulations.

Monitor and advise logistics team on import / export practices in the region.

Support data, handling data analysis to identity trends and insights


Ensure documents and data meet legal and fiscal requirements and records are maintained in accordance with guidelines and working instructions.

Audit import/export customs documentation to ensure accuracy of records.

Record, monitor and analyze compliance operations key performance indicators for the location.

Prepares and distributes internal communications covering compliance matters and metrics.

Performs trade sanctions / restricted party screening of entities via the use of third-party screening tools.

Proactively communicate regularly with the import brokers/freight forwarders on open topics.

Develop trade operations and compliance procedures and guidance documents.

Participates in development of compliance sessions / presentations.

Operate the compliance training plan.


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, International Business) or equivalent experience in place of a degree.


Minimum 4 year of work experience, including at least 2 years of experience in a compliance, legal, auditing or investigation role in life sciences, preferably in the biotechnology, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries.

Proven import/export compliance experience with regional knowledge gained in practice.

Knowledge of HTS Codes, INCOTERMs, country of origin rules, valuation, import/export laws and regulations.

Knowledge of international sanctions.

Strong customer focus, work ethic and integrity.

Self-starter and attention to detail with ability to work independently.

Strong communication skills and the ability to execute tasks professionally.

Analytical skills necessary but what is essential is data interpretation.

Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.


Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a positive attitude.

You love what you do, and it shows.

Ability to work confidently within groups in a multinational company and respond to global/cultural sensitivities.

Communicate effectively in English, spoken and written.

Excellent time management.

Knowledge is SAP GTS and SAP Fiori.
