Functional Controlling Business Partner Enabling Functions
For our Enabling Functions Controlling team team we are looking for a
Functional Controlling Business Partner.


Our controlling hub enables business steering and decision making for the Bayer group in by acting as financial advisor and key contact.

The Enabling Functions Controlling team is the key partner for Corporate responsible of the functions like IT, Human Resources, Audit.

The Functional Controller acts as a Business Partner to the Corporate Function organization.

This role takes care of all Functional Controlling related activities (such as planning, reporting, consulting for individual departments) and ensures a consistent steering framework incl.

cost allocation and value flows.


You will be responsible for:


  • Enabling effective financial business steering, performance management, and resource allocation in line with strategic objectives; proposes appropriate corrective actions in case of deviations.
  • Supporting meaningful target setting and tracks savings measures in performance programs.
  • Providing dedicated financial insights & analytics on Functional Cost at Bayer by developing suitable concepts and processes, ensures system implementation and consistent data structures.
  • Assuring an integrated view on global functional performance management & cost development (sender view, clean Net Prime Cost) as well as the financial impact on Divisions (receiver view) to balance functional cost development with the short and longterm profitability goals of Bayer.
  • Supporting transparency on material cost drivers across all functions.

We would expect from you:


  • University degree in Economics / completed Master of Business Administration or equivalent studies in economics / management
  • Experience in Controlling / Finance, preferably with focus on financial analysis, functional controlling, and operative planning
  • Deep understanding of controlling standards and methodologies
  • Experience in a Global Business Services environment is considered as an advantage
  • Business Partnering with collaborative mindset and behavior
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, feeling comfortable to work with senior management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different target groups and build up trustful relationships
  • Ability to work in digital environment and virtual teams
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and conflict
  • Assertiveness, e.g. with respect to target setting
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Use of Data Analytics and other digital tools to provide insights to support better decision making (e.g., SAP BW, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Solid capabilities in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel), SAP BW, and respective frontend tools
  • Experience in project management is considered as an advantage
  • English, fluent spoken and written
