Job Description Summary:

The European Market Access Senior Manager will have primary responsibilities for implementing and enabling execution of market access strategies that secure and advance Pricing and Reimbursement (P&R) to the Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) portfolio across national and sub-national payers in the designated European countries.

The PDx business is the number one global supplier of contrast media and molecular imaging agents used to enhance medical imaging exams.

Applied throughout all major disease area diagnostic and treatment pathways, PDx products support three patients every second around the world.

This role can be based either in Amersham (UK), Madrid (Spain), or remote anywhere in UK or Spain.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain an indepth understanding of European healthcare systems, key pricing and payer regulations and decisionmaking approaches, across varying payer archetypes (e.g., HTA, clinical benefit assessment, etc.) and mechanisms of purchase (e.g., institutional, tenders, etc.). Anticipate market access opportunities and risks and propose action plans.
  • Inform development of and implement pricing and access strategies and associated tactics to achieve, maintain, defend and expand optimal prices and reimbursement for the PDx portfolio in European markets, both at the national and subnational levels. Support regional and local customization of global strategies and payer value propositions (PVPs).
  • Support relevant regional legislative initiatives, including working closely with relevant industry trade associations, patient organizations and medical societies.
  • Work efficiently in a highly matrixed environment by collaborating with global Market Access, regional Commercial, Medical Affairs and global Product Management colleagues.
  • Ensure that the 'Voice of the Payer' is included with all relevant crossfunctional teams.
  • Guarantee that market access expertise and considerations are continuously embedded into the broader organization.

Qualifications and experience:


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical sector sufficient to have a deep understanding of the European pricing and market access environment.
  • Prior interaction with healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical business customers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EU member state and UK payer engagement, and reimbursement processes and regulations across a pharmaceutical product's life cycle.
  • Experience supporting product launches in key European countries.
  • Clear understanding of how to best put patient's needs first while achieving commercial and business objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and payers; good conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong crossfunctional project management, organizational and analytical skills.

Desired Characteristics:


  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in healthcare, business or economics is preferred.
  • General understanding of health economics and associated skills.
  • Experience in radiopharmaceuticals, imaging, or diagnostics.
  • Ability to work successfully and cooperatively across multiple cultures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A good level of English and fluency and another European language valuable.
