Description


Reporting to the Operations Director, the Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from client and project management (business development, framing of key approaches, high-quality client delivery, written products) to administration (information technology, reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career progression).


The Deputy Director will partner closely with the OD to chart Queer Destination's future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization's services.

They will take over when the OD is not available and share in their responsibilities.

They help to motivate staff, handle administrative duties, and perform human resource tasks, such as recruiting and assessing staff performance.


Areas of Responsibility (AoRs)

  • Assisting the Operations Director in the organization's overall management and administration and ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Supervising other departments and division within the organization
  • Supervising other staff members and coordinating their work
  • Assisting the OD in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies for the organization
  • Participating in decisionmaking processes and providing guidance and support to the OD
  • Assisting the OD in managing budgets and financial resources
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of projects and initiatives
  • Representing the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events
  • Monitoring the performance of the organization and identifying areas for improvement
  • Providing support and guidance to staff members to help them develop their skills and careers.

Requirements & qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, management, or public administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff members, stakeholders, and other external parties.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to identify and address problems quickly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A proven track record of leading and managing teams and the ability to motivate and inspire staff members.
  • Knowledge of industryspecific regulations and guidelines and a good understanding of the organization's mission and goals.
