As cover for a maternity leave, we are looking for an Ethics & Compliance Manager - Southern Europe, based in our Madrid office.

The position is temporary, from 11 March - 4 October 2024.

The Southern Europe Ethics & Compliance Manager is part of the Ethics & Compliance Centre of Excellence, itself part of a wider Global Legal, Ethics & Compliance function.

JLL needs to comply with its Ethics & Compliance values and obligations (both internal and external) across all services and territories where it operates, and the Southern Europe Ethics & Compliance Manager supports the global, regional, and local Ethics & Compliance program.

The Ethics & Compliance team works as a tight unit, collaborating on projects and processes, supporting a wider EMEA and Global agenda, and adapting flexibly to changing compliance priorities.

The Southern Europe Ethics & Compliance Manager supports the EMEA Head of Ethics & Compliance across the entire EMEA business (e.g. Agency, Investment, Facilities Management, Project & Development Services, Design & Build) and all support functions (e.g. Finance, HR, IT Services, Procurement).

It is a varied job, with a mixture of managing process and projects, and working with local and international colleagues.

This role is the person supporting Spain, Portugal and Italy as directed by Head of Ethics & Compliance.

With regards to 'operations', the focus is on addressing Southern Europe countries' queries, but support will be sought on wider EMEA and Global queries.

Likewise with projects, in addition to leading certain regional/global projects, the focus will be on addressing Southern Europe countries' requirements and implementation for EMEA/Global projects and support other colleagues on their projects.

What this job involves
Responsibilities - You will be responsible for delivering parts of the EMEA Ethics & Compliance Programme in alignment with JLL's global programme, as agreed with the EMEA Head of Compliance, with a particular focus on Anti-Financial Crime, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Privacy & Information Laws, Regulation and Professional Standards, and Business Ethics


This includes:


Anti-Money Laundering - Ensuring Know Your Client / Counterparty / Sanctions procedures are followed, as applicable to the relevant business activity.

Increasing awareness in reporting of suspicious activity within the client-facing business.

Data Protection - Assisting on ensuring privacy documentation is kept up to date, managing data breaches and privacy rights within the business, monitoring compliance with the JLL Marketing Policy.

Increasing awareness of privacy practices (property and corporate marketing).

Technology - Working with our IT team (TDIM), Information Security, and business teams to consider Legal & Compliance risks (e.g.

confidentiality, privacy, regulatory and professional ethics, key contacts) when delivering new technology solutions.

Compliance Contracting:

Assisting Commercial Counsel on drafting and negotiating clauses with respect to all elements of the Ethics & Compliance programme.

Training & Communications - Contributing to and delivering training on relevant ethics & compliance matters. Preparing guidance documents and team communications. Helping in chasing completion of training, Code of Ethics and other certifications and analysing and providing data key metrics.

Risk Assessment and Monitoring - provide assistance to support thematic and business-focused risk assessment, monitoring and audit activities, including supporting JLL's internal audit function in performing annual anti-corruption audits.

Conflicts of Interests - Advising on potential conflicts of interests (personal and corporate) as they arise in the business, assisting with obtaining informed consent and implementation of information barriers.
