your job:
Since the soundness and normal operation of the hull and machinery of a ship are key to the safe transportation and delivery of any cargo or freight, it is highly advisable that ship owners purchase hull and machinery insurance.
In the role of "Hull and Machinery Broker /Claims Handler", you will be tasked with managing insurance and claims, maintaining a consistent relationship with the insurer, customer, loss adjuster, and other relevant stakeholders of the business, and negotiating with insurers to achieve the best possible outcome for your customer.
To be successful in this role, you have an affinity with the maritime industry, and be open-minded to acquiring knowledge of contracts and risks.
You will be handling claims across Marine Hull & Machinery and Marine Liability claims whilst being tasked with supporting other members of your team as and when required.
For example, you will be collaborating with internal teams, such as claims and administration, to deliver seamless and efficient customer service.
You have a completed University degree (law).Furthermore, you have strong communication skills both written and oral in order to communicate correctly with various internal and external stakeholders, great organization & time management skills, decisiveness, responsibility, and problem-solving skills.
Boluda Towage is an international company and a market leader in the maritime industry, and for this international role, an excellent command of the English and Spanish languages is mandatory.
Your key tasks:
- Handling and managing Hull and Machinery Claims.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of the company by understanding their insurance needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Support comprehensive risk assessments for the various branches of the company and recommend suitable insurance products and coverage.
- Support negotiations between the company and insurance underwriters to secure competitive terms and favourable premiums.
- Prepare and present insurance proposals and policy recommendations to the various branches.
- Provide ongoing support and advice to branches on policy renewals, coverage enhancements, and claims management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to provide timely and informed recommendations to customers.
- A completed University degree (Law)
- Knowledge of contract and risks
- Experience in dealing with insurance
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, and preferably Spanish
- Expert in data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of MS Office systems
- Affinity with the maritime industry
