We are now seeking a Senior EHS Manager to help us further building the future of food.

You will be based in Berga, Spain and report to the EHS manager and be part of a great team of people based in our locations across Europe - Finland, UK, Belgium, Sweden, Estonia, Spain.


In this role you will have the opportunity to work to drive and implement a safety culture within defined manufacturing and/or office sites and to lead the implementation of EH&S mgmt.

systems with the objective to create and support a safe workplace, and improve control over environmental risks, as well as increased sustainability within the Spanish manufacturing sites and office sites.


What will you do:

EHS (on manufacturing site level):

  • Drive development and implementation of the EHS management systems according set vision and to drive a safety culture within the organization through promotion of safe behavior and organizational ownership of the safety agenda by the business.
  • Responsible for the implementation of a Safety mgmt. system in accordance to Paulig Safety Culture program (e.g. rules and procedures, workplace analysis & RCA, hazard prevention and risk analysis, promoting safety behavior and building a safety culture, execute safety training, toolboxes ) and to keep it uptodate and integrated within the site
  • Propose, plan and implement corrective actions and being responsible for the implementation of the sitelevel actions needed for the group sustainability ambitions on climate impact/GHG emissions, food waste and recycling rate
  • Provide the monthly environmental data for group sustainability KPI reporting
  • Responsible for legal followup & compliance with national standards and regulations (WSP), including packaging producer respons.
  • Coordinate and lead internal & external EHS audits.
Coordinate with Industrial Management and production line technicians corresponding work permits and / or permits:
Use of machinery, work permits, etc.

and coordinate with the External Prevention Service environmental controls, ergonomic or psychosocial factors that are considered necessary based on the risk assessment.


  • Responsible for chemical handling system and support risk assessment for chemicals.
  • Responsible of training and informing employees of the risks of the workplace. Writing and updating training topics and safety rules. Coordinating specific training with specialized training centers.
  • To prepare and keep up to date the company's Emergency Plan. Organize the different teams that can intervene in an emergency, implement the Plan, do regular exercises... Conduct and supervise emergency drills.
EHS (on office site level)

  • Support the organization with the organization and joining of the legal Safety Committees.
  • Check legal compliance and follow up of new legislation (WSP) to inform office manager.
  • Conduct annual self assessment in WSP and perform site visit to check compliance.
  • Verify incidents / observations and support site with actions coming from incidents, observations, legal monitoring...
  • Support in Risk Assessments.

What we expect from you:

Education:


  • Degree in Prevention and Integral Safety and Security (speciality on health and safety at work) or University education + Master's degree in laboral risk prevention (3 specialisations: safety, hygiene, ergonomics and psychosociology)
  • Additional Academic education in the area of EHS, (e.g. Licensed PA level1 or Nebosh Diploma)
Experience & knowledge

  • 5y of relevant experience in implementing and developing EHS mgmt. systems
  • 5y experience in a leader role
  • Ability to interpret and implement EHS legislation
  • Good experience in planning and performing audits within EHS
Language & communication skills

  • Fluent in local language
  • Fluent in English.
