    Senior Character Animator

    Crafting Legendary Worlds for All to Share

    About the Role

    We are seeking a skilled Senior Character Animator to join our team and help create 3D animations for a new, unannounced game at Blizzard.

    • Collaborate with experienced character artists, technical animators, and gameplay designers to craft outstanding gameplay moments.
    • Create high-quality game animations in the required style for our game.

    Responsibilities

    1. Work closely with the art director, lead animator, and animation team to deliver high-quality game animations.
    2. Support animation production planning to ensure content is delivered according to the needs of the game.
    3. Partner with character artists, technical animators, and animation programmers to ensure characters and their animations meet specifications.
    4. Ensure animations are designed and delivered into the game in a way that is tidy, optimized, and scalable.
    5. Mentor and develop more junior animators as required.
    6. Support any outsourced animation efforts as required.

    Requirements

    • Experience in creating and implementing high-quality gameplay and performance animations in various styles.
    • Understanding of how animation fits into game development in collaboration with other crafts and fields.
    • Knowledge of principles of animation, including framing performance with cameras, timing, and composition.
    • Strong understanding of industry-standard software for 3D animation and game engines.
    • A passion for making high-quality games in a cross-discipline, collaborative team.
    • Natural problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills.
