    CIDETEC is seeking a Researcher in the Energy Storage area to cover the needs of strategic projects.

    About the Role

    This role is aligned with the current activity of the post-mortem and modelling line of the Energy Materials unit.

    You will be responsible for the development and implementation of multi-physics models for lithium ion and lithium metal batteries.

    Your work will involve knowledge generation and industrial projects within the Storage Systems Unit.

    • Assembly of button cells in controlled glove chamber.
    • Pouch/cylindrical cell opening and rigid housing in controlled glove chamber.
    • Physical-chemical characterisation of cell materials and components (TGA, FE-SEM, XRD, Raman, NMR).
    • Electrochemical characterisation of electrodes and cells (GITT, PITT, EIS, CV).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Project management.
    • Drafting of project proposals.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must:

    • Have a PhD in Advanced Materials for Energy.
    • Be fluent in spoken and written English.
    • Demonstrate a sound knowledge in:
      • R&D in battery systems.
      • Electrochemical characterization of batteries post-mortem analysis.
      • Inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry and advanced materials.
    • Be a highly motivated person with a keen interest in research and innovation.
    • Be able to organise your work, meeting deadlines and established objectives.
    • Haven problem-solving capacity and scientific criteria.
    • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Having undertaken a placement abroad and more than 3 years' work experience will be considered a plus.
