LSP Renewables have partnered with a leading IPP to recruit a Business Development Manager in Madrid, to originate and develop a project pipeline of Battery Storage projects in the Iberia region.
Our client develops, finances, builds and operates commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects across Europe, MENA, and APAC, and have successfully delivered over 2,000 solar photovoltaic infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate project opportunities and develops a pipeline of Battery Storage projects across Spain and Portugal.
- Lead deal contractual negotiations, structuring and commercial relations with local codevelopers for the origination of new projects pipeline, either at initial stages of development or at later stages.
- Effectively and professionally manage relationships with external stakeholders, including development partners, public entities (state, regional and local), legal and technical advisors, etc.
- Drive progress on the projects by coordinating different workstreams with other internal departments.
- Ensure economic viability of projects / pipeline opportunities.
- Significantly contribute to the definition of the company strategy across Iberia.
Requirements:
Experience in the following areas:
- Greenfield Development
- Deep understanding of 'greenfield' development process for Solar PV power plants or Battery Storage projects (including site control, securing interconnection, permitting process, etc.). Good knowledge of associated business development costs.
- Solar PV / Battery Storage Technology
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology and costs (_e.g._ panels, BOS, EPC, O&M). Basic knowledge of ancillary technologies (_e.g._ batteries, T&D networks, hybrids, etc.) will be a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline.
- Team player.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Fluent in English. Any other European language would be an advantage.
