Technical Consultant

This role has been designated as 'Edge', which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.


An HPE Pointnext Services Technical Consultant is a customer facing role that must be able to provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams.

Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers' business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers' businesses.

Deliver reactive and proactive activities according to Service Level Agreement to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.


On the other hand, a Technical Consultant has to maintain updated his knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain.

Also, he should actively contribute to the company's solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects.

Shape technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers.

A Technical Consultant is accountable for assisting in meeting or exceeding revenue and customer satisfaction goals.

Contribute to organization's profitability by generating and cultivating new business opportunities and by providing technical support for deal proposal development.

For that reason, a Technical Consultant needs to work really close to the Service Sales Specialist and all the Sales Account Team in order to help in the company growth, being an identified trusted advisor from the customer's point of view.

_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Responsible for delivery of assigned tasks within the delivery cycle of a project. Understands a number of the company's technologies in order to provide technical systems management support or deliver part of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements. Tasks may include performing systems configurations, troubleshooting systems errors/problems, monitoring and/or testing systems performance, and contribute to the design of technical solutions for customer environments with moderate risk/complexity.
  • Works under supervision of technical lead and with customer nominated representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Successfully resolve technical issues from incoming internal or external businesses and end user's contacts and proactive notification systems.
  • Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding to create solutions for customers.
  • May provide technical consulting during contract renewal and project presales discussions.
  • Resolve most technical incidents independently within your technical area. Work with team members to resolve more complex or crosstechnology incidents.
  • Identify potential escalations and alert management proactively.
  • Drive Customer Expectation management as part of escalation process.
  • Begin to proactively and reactively provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility.
  • Balance internal needs with customer needs within defined parameters.
  • May identify additional services that could lead to future service revenue growth.
  • Manage small projects/programs in the team.
  • Act professionally as trusted advisor in the consultant role for customer and HPE sales team.
  • Participates as part of a team and develops and grows good relationships with team members and customers in assigned accounts or projects.
  • Understands the company's strategy.
  • Participates in chosen technical community or profession, and regularly attends profession or community of interest events.
  • Maintain technical knowledge updated. Should be able to learn new technologies in a short period.

_ Education and Experience Required:
_


  • Bachelor's degree holder (Computer science or related area of study).
  • Spanish native and fluent in English.

_ Knowledge and Skills:
_


  • Comprehensive business, technical, or functional knowledge.
  • Conceptual understanding of Information Technology (IT) environments. Interest in Technology, and ability to keep updated in technological novelties and new releases.
  • Active listening skills and ability to adjust messages to audience level.
  • Communicate effectively to technical level and firstlevel management within an organization. Able to communicate concepts with team and to peers.
  • Problemsolving skills (proactive, reactive and creative). Ability to identify alternatives, set priorities, and identify solutions.
  • Able to produce basic documentation to required standards.
  • Demonstrates understanding of assigned discipline or technical area.
  • Proactivity, initiative, willing to learn and work. Interest in developing a career in this environment.
