Summary

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA .

Locality pay is not authorized overseas.

Responsibilities

  • You will monitor contractor performance against contract specifications pipe fitting, welding, coating and corrosion control, hull structure fit-up).
  • You will interpret engineering drawings and sketches to use during inspections.
  • You will identify quality improvements based on lessons learned from audits, investigative analyses, or special studies.
  • You will evaluate nondestructive testing (NDT) and inspection plans to determine production and contract work meet quality assurance (QA) standards.
  • You will administer critique or problem analysis process supporting the overhaul and repair of ships.

    Occasional travel - Travel is dependent upon position description and availability of funding.
