What you will be doing:

You will be part of Keysight Laboratories (Labs). Keysight Labs is the forefront research department in the company. Our core mission is to develop groundbreaking solutions that will change the company. We are leading efforts to develop and advance test and measurement solutions in connection with the emerging 6G technologies.

Specifically, the efforts are collaborative European and Spanish research projects, where we are working with a wide range of partners to prove these new 6G technologies.

This is while developing the solutions and methodologies to meet the needs of 6G.

Your main role will be to develop and test new and radical concepts for the next generation of cellular networks (6G).

You will need a broad understanding of cellular technologies and the underlying infrastructure.

To follow the development of 5G and 6G, you will also interact with concepts such as virtualization, network intelligence, O-RAN, and vRAN.

We expect a significant part of this development to happen first in the Digital Twin. You will create new and complex network scenarios using our digital twin platform, EXATA. You will enable our SW and ML engineers with your unique understanding of the telecom aspects.

As part of your role, you will need to define concrete components and needs that the SW developers in the team should implement.

Your main challenges will be (1) acquiring a profound understanding of the 6G technologies, (2) implementing such concepts/technologies (directly or indirectly), and (3) defining KPIs and designing test cases to evaluate them.

Who are we looking for?:

Master's degree in telecommunications or network engineering.
5+ years of experience working as a telecommunications engineer in industry or academia.
Experience working with 4G and 5G network technologies.
Experience with and knowledge of cellular networks, both core and RAN parts.
Experience working with virtualized networking and network functions.
Knowledge of O-RAN and/or vRAN technologies.
Experience working with telco testing and test cases, both performance and conformance
Some software development skills are a plus.
Experience with Git versioning control (GitHub, Gitlab) and automation of development and build pipelines.
