Job description


In this challenging procurement role, you are integral part of a customer-oriented project team, responsible for selecting and negotiating 3rd party suppliers (contracts), maximizing the project benefits (Total Cost of Ownership approach) while minimizing risks taken by Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting.


You will be involved in the design and improvement of the processes that should ensure to get the best prices and quality by scanning, reviewing and selecting suppliers for the sourcing of products, systems and services based on the requirements of project tenders to ensure value for money.

A LEAN mindset and Continuous Improvement are a must, in order to support growth.


As a Procurement Manager for Systems & Services you support your Market and Region - either during pre-sales or during the complete project lifetime - by a swift and qualitative supplier scouting, onboarding and contracting process, capturing all contractual back to back clauses mirroring the customers' needs, whilst ensuring Quality and Safety.


In this role you will also need to assess the technical and commercial turnkey project requirements and translate these in a clear Request for Quotation and the selection of the right level of suppliers with the appropriate capabilities and qualifications.

Within Signify, the Systems & Services organization represents two of our strategic drivers focusing on the solution-based industry.

Systems & Services teams are tendering and executing innovative E2E systems and services for all end-user led initiatives, irrespective of economical threshold.

You will play a double role in the Systems & Services team:
adding value to this project team, as well as to Procurement as a function.


As Procurement Manager you will be based in Madrid-Spain, being part of the Procurement team, supporting the Systems & Services team of Europe.

You will be one of the Procurements' points of contact in customer projects for the European Markets for Turn-key projects involving Systems & Services propositions, involving cross functional domains such as: Proposal and Project Management, Legal, Quality, Health & Safety and Commodity Management.


Responsibilities:


  • Technical and commercial assessment of the project requirements and communication of project related commercial & technical requirements towards the supplier(s)
  • Supplier scouting, evaluation, auditing, selection and contracting
  • Negotiating and creation of supplier contracts, including scope, prices and terms and conditions
  • Drives Request For Quotation process and management, eg via Esourcing Tools
  • Supply base management and supplier development
  • Supports Commodity Strategy and execution in close cooperation with the Global Commodity Managers for Products and Services
  • Organize all project site related supplier activities
  • Supplier Financial and Quality Risk Management, including Due Diligence process
  • Working both under tight deadlines and organizing own tasks for asynchronous work to the proposal process and project execution
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneous, both Operational and Strategic
  • Always act with integrity with a Safetyfirst mindset
We are looking for

  • Technical affinity with electrical installation projects including cabinets, control systems, building integration, etc (Bachelor's degree in technology/sciences, business management, or a related discipline. Or equal through experience)
  • 5+ years Project or Proposal Management experience, managing multiple turnkey projects simultaneously. Handson experience in project site management and familiar with technical scope of works. Experience working with technical service suppliers or Contractors
  • 5+ years Procurement Experience. Familiar with contracting, budgeting and negotiation (TCO approach, cost buildup, Quotation processes, cost drivers in technical projects)
  • 3+ years of Procurement experience in commodities for installation projects

Eg:
, electric installation material & services or Commissioning, IT & Network equipment, switches and sensors.

  • Networking capabilities with internal & external stakeholders, entrepreneurial mindset, team player with the ability to work standalone, or as part of a virtual team; willingness to travel within the region
  • Thinking in solutions with a "can do"mindset
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Other European languages will be valuable.
o 5+ years in a fast-paced Installation Services and/or Building Automation industry

o 2+ years experienced in a project procurement or supply chain role or supply base development

o Familiar with Standard Work and

Continuous Improvement:
LEAN, Kaizen, BB/GB Process mindset. Capable to develop Standard work & training materials for both internal & external stakeholders
