As the Global Health and Safety Associate Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures across all our global operations.

    In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and championing employee wellbeing.     Functions and responsibilities

    • You will ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards, including ISO You will also conduct regular risk assessments and audits, develop and deliver training programs, and work closely with other departments to integrate health and safety considerations into all aspects of our operations.
    • You will be part of the sustainability area, reporting to the Global Sustainability Executive Director, and working very closely with the rest of the teams, such as the global environmental team, the global sustainability team, and the global corporate facility management team. You will also collaborate with external stakeholders, such as labour authorities, industry associations, suppliers, and other partners, to promote health and safety best practices and initiatives.
    • You will manage a team of highly qualified health and safety professionals with direct responsibility on the Spanish sites of Almirall, and with a support role over the international organization. You will provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to your team members and ensure they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties.

    Education

    • A bachelor's degree in a scientific field (engineering, chemistry, etc.).
    • Post-graduate training and official Spanish accreditation as a Senior Health and Safety Specialist, in the three technical specialities (occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics and applied psychosociology).

    Specific knowledge

    • A strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of proficiency in English.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 8 years of experience in occupational health and safety, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • It is essential to provide extensive experience in occupational health and safety in industrial environments.
    • Previous experience in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage.
    • Previous experience in international and multicultural environments will be valued.
