  • Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 770 staff from 55 countries.

    Context And Mission
  • The Quantic group is a BSC initiative to study Quantum computation. This novel paradigm of computation has the potential to exploit Quantum mechanics to perform highperformance computations of Quantum systems and optimization problems.
    Key Duties
  • Develop advanced methods of Tensor Network analysis
  • Study and implement parallel tools to simulate Quantum circuits
  • Design of novel hybrid architectures for Quantum computing

Requirements:


  • Education
  • Completed degree in Physics, Computer science or equivalent
  • PhD in Physics or related fields to Quantum computation
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience in parallel programming models (MPi, OpenMP,...)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning platforms
  • Expert programming skils in Julia and Python
  • Advance knowledge of Tensor Network methods
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience with GPU programming
  • Numerical programming skills
  • Good level of English
  • Fluent in C and C++
  • Competences
  • Capacity to interact and build strong relations with the team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Student and young researchers supervision

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department
  • We offer a fulltime contract, a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
  • Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
  • Starting date: March
