Our client is a highly specialised marine IT & VSAT service provider in the superyacht, cruise and research vessel industry.

They provide their clients with unparalleled, global nextGen broadbeam VSAT (GEO) speeds of more than 400Mbps, 4G/5G mobile data connectivity, local WiFi/WIMAX networks and high-speed low-latency LEO (Low Earth Orbit) Internet.

They integrate all of these into a smart traffic-steering solution in order to provide the best connectivity experience depending on their requirements, whether this be for latency sensitive apps or higher bandwidth needs such as HD video streaming.


They are looking for a Network Engineer to work in their NaaS deparment, who helps configuring, installing, and supporting networking equipment for clients that subscribe to their NaaS service.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure they meet contractual customer support SLA's.
  • Implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of their customers networks.
  • Installing, configuring, monitor and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, WLAN Controllers, Company proprietary products, Access Points, and Cabling.
  • Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Automating troubleshooting through scrips and software in case of an outage.
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades.
  • Investigating faults in the network.
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
  • Maintain accurate assest information.
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
  • Implement and support network monitoring systems.
  • Provide complex problem analysis, determination and resolution using industry standard networking utilities / tools as well as creative thinking.
  • Create and maintain "asbuilt" diagrams/documentation, as well as process and procedure documentation.

Desired knowledge and skills

  • Experience in Local area and wireless networks.
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Experience with problem ticketing systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational, time management and problemsolving skills are essential.
  • Effective communication in English and Spanish.

Must be able to demonstrate detailed technical knowledge in all the following areas

  • Cisco routers and switches with extensive design, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting experience.
  • Routing Protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.).
  • WLAN& LAN Technologies.
  • SD WAN.
  • Highly proficient with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, access points and wireless controllers.

Experience with and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field of study a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in network operations a plus.

Desired qualifications

  • CCNA, CCNP or related Network Certifications a Plus.

Other requirements

  • Will be part of a paid oncall afterhours rotation as they build global coverage in the group to minimize or eliminate oncall impact. On call will receive issue escalations after office hours and weekends.
  • May work in shifts (Morning/Afternoon/Weekend) depending of the need.
- >15% Travel may be required.
