Context And Mission
The Data-Centric Computing (DCC) group from the computer science department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is searching for 1 Research Senior Engineer on Machine Learning Operations and High-Performance Computing, willing to work on MLOps research and support for research in an EU project for the course

Key Duties

Assist with research projects, experiments, and technology deployments
Participate in research outcomes (papers, publications, demos, and prototypes)
Assist Ph.

D. Students with HPC topics

Contribute to collaborations with different international research partners
Give mutual support to other researchers in the project and research groups

Requirements:

Education
M.Sc. on Computer Sciences, Computer Architecture or equivalent
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field
Preferable Ph.

D. studies, towards having experience as a PreDoc and acquiring experience as PostDoc

Domain on Data Analytics, High-Performance Computing, and Distributed Learning topics (e.g., Federated Learning)
Scientific papers (conference and journal) preparation, publication, and dissemination
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Basic skills in Big Data platforms and technologies (e.g., Spark, Ray, and Flink)
Skills in Data Analytics, Distributed Machine Learning, and databases
Skills in Cloud and Serverless Computing technologies
Skills in Reproducible Research (e.g., Notebooks and GIT)
Understanding of highperformance computing and distributed system concepts
Competences
Good English communication skills
Ability to work independently and in the context of a team/project
Flexible work schedule and availability for traveling

Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department

Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
