The opportunity

As a member of our team in the
EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, you'll have a chance to extend your knowledge & experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches.

You'll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation.

Your key responsibilities

Design, develop and manage data pipelines by using Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or other cloud native solutions
Create data models and maintain database structures in Snowflake, SQL Server, or other data warehouse platforms
Implement automation scripts and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes for data management
Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with data regulations and industry standards
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures
Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends in data engineering, cloud computing, and big data processing
Lead the effort to improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of the existing data platforms

Skills and attributes for success

Excellent written and verbal skills
The ability to work in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
The ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders

To qualify for the role, you must have

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Azure and AWS cloud services
Excellent knowledge of Spark and Databricks, as well as experience with PySpark or Scala
Extensive knowledge in data warehousing and database management systems such as Snowflake, SQL Server or RedShift
Good experience in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps practices, as well as Git and Jenkins
Fluent in English is a must

Ideally, you'll also have

Experience in data governance, metadata management, and data lineage tools
Experience in international environments
