TheVall d'Hebron Research Institute

(VHIR) is a public sector institution that

promotes and develops the research,

innovation and biosanitary teaching of the

Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. Through

the excellence of our research, we identify

problems of society and we contribute to

spread them around the world.

In April 2015, the
Vall d'Hebron

Research Institute (VHIR) obtained

the recognition of the European

Commission
HR Excellence.
This recognition proves that VHIR

endorses the general principles of the

European Charter for Researchers and

a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment

of Researchers
(Charter & Code).

Communication Technician - Temporary contract for

maternity leave (7 months approximately)

Communication Unit
The VHIR Communication Unit is part of the Communication, Corporate Strategy and Citizen Assistance Department of
the Vall d'Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and its main objective is to raise awareness of the research carried out at
Vall d'Hebron, in all its areas and all its forms. On the one hand, it explains to society, through its web page, social
media and the media in general, the main scientific advances of its researchers, and the institution's milestones. It does
so through press releases and conferences, interviews, videos and communication campaigns, as well as written and
audiovisual informative material.

On the other hand, it internally communicates the research, publications and activities of our research personnel to the
entire Campus, through internal communiques, the Internet and social media.

It also creates an essential institutional tool that annually audits the scientific production of the Vall d'Hebron Research
Institute (VHIR), such as the multimedia version of the report.

The unit contributes to the internationalization of the institution through the production of all the information in English
and forging a closer relationship with international media.

Lastly, it organises institutional events, scientific seminars, workshops and the annual conference, but it also carries
out divulgation actions in order to bring what the researchers do at the VHIR closer to society. It does so by participating
in fairs and organising open-door events and other activities to allow society to get to know us and raise awareness,
especially among the young.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Education and qualifications:

Required:

University degree in Journalism or in Health Sciences with a Master in Science Communication.***
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Excellent written skills: 12 years of professional experience in writing scientific texts in Catalan, Spanish and

English (a written test will be done)

Knowledge of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)
Experience in Internal Communications
Familiar with social media environment (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn)
Familiar with Drupal platform or similar
Basic knowledge of Photoshop

Desired:

Experience in photography, recording and video editing
Familiar with mailing platforms: Get Response, Mailchimp
Experience with Infogram

Main responsibilities and duties:

Support in the design and implementation of the communication plan for the HRS4R
Internal Newsletters
Writing scientific web news and press releases
