This role sits in a diverse team reporting to Global Privacy Strategist within HP's Trust and Privacy Office (TPO) under the Legal organization and has a direct impact to driving compliant and trust-worthy HP solutions.

We lead the company's strategies, policies and assurance for trusted and compliant digital experiences and personal data use.

We partner extensively with teams across the company from marketing, sales to software and solutions delivery, and employee management functions.


Trusted digital interactions are crucial to customer loyalty, both with consumers and commercial enterprises, and external requirements are heating up.

Public scrutiny on the role of companies in safeguarding human rights in online and digital contexts is accelerating and, as technology advances to include greater emphasis on artificial intelligence and automated decision making, HP needs to respond.


This role will strategically collaborate across different functions with business leaders, executives, and privacy peers, requiring results-oriented privacy leader that can drive complex compliance initiatives.

Acting as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals in relation to the assurance and audit of the Privacy and Data Protection Program.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership

  • Leads the development and implementation of recommendations and strategic decisions; identifies consequences of decisions on a regional or global level and develops appropriate solutions and areas for program improvement.
  • Collaborates and negotiates with senior business leaders to resolve highly complex audit issues; links Trust and Privacy Organization to internal and external stakeholders, such as Internal Audit and external auditors on all audit matters.
  • Engages with program managers, account leaders, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decisionmaking.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
Global Privacy Audit Program

  • Own development and documentation of foundational controls framework for data protection, and once in place, explore a partnership with Internal Audit (IA) to establish an internal privacy audit practice or other third parties to assess and benchmark organizational compliance to Company Privacy Policy, Standards and Specifications.
Global Audit Support

  • Act supporting the liaison between Internal Audit (IA) and The Trust and Privacy Office.
  • Act as SME for Privacy Auditors once program is established.
  • Consult with IA in developing the audit plan.
  • SME for organizations preparing for or responding to a privacy audit.
Global Self-Assessment Program

  • Establish and own a global Privacy Self-Assessment and Management Review process to allow business owners to assess the maturity of their deployment of the global privacy program and manage ongoing improvements.
Global Document Control

  • Establish and maintain a TPO Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document control process.
  • Maintain a document vault for TPO master documents and change control records.
Metrics & Dashboards

  • Establish SOP metrics and dashboarding capability to track and measure all key endtoend processes.
Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business management, Engineering, Law, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex programs/projects.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a privacy role collaborating across several business areas (HR, Product and Services, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Governance, IT, Sales, etc.)
  • At least one privacy certification such as CIPM, CIPP-E, CIPP-C and/or CIPP-US is required.
Knowledge And Skills

  • Deep knowledge of global privacy and regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, etc.
  • Extensive experience leading privacy transformative initiatives within a highly matrixed corporate and fastpaced environment.
  • Resilient to constant change and comfortable pivoting as business needs and privacy laws arise.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Proven leader and skilled communicator (verbal, written and presentation) demonstrating credibility and confidence.
  • Previous experience as team leaders or managing people would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
