- Objective setting, performance management and development of the team
- Create a highly engaged environment for the team, and working in close collaboration with stakeholders
- Support the wider CX teams and local management with expertise on issue resolution, legal support, and where needed liaising with our Legal and Financial departments to gain positive outcomes.
- Ensure our ways of working our in line with internal processes, and are lean and efficient.
- Recommend solutions to management, initiating and pursuing appropriate claims prevention measures and corrective actions internally and with our external customers
- Support the team with enhancing awareness, governance, the needed tools and training material to enhance their ways of working
- Challenge the status quo and look for opportunities to streamline and improve our ways of working, locally, with region, and with global
- Leader mentality and entrepreneurship
- Experience in shipping or logistics sector.
- Experience with claims handling/legal combined with customer service is a bonus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (legal focus preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo
- Ability to structure, conduct and facilitate analytical problem solving at a high level
- High degree of empathy, assertiveness, diplomacy, independence and willingness to help others.

As South West Europe Area Claims Manager you would have opportunity to lead and develop a team of experienced claims handlers located across the Area ( located in Spain, France and Morocco).
The role is posted as preferred location Madrid, however there is opportunity to operate out of other SWE offices.
Lead and represent the SWE Area Claims Team - the role is not only focused on Ocean, but also integrated into the wider L&S products. Claims is a fraction of the puzzle, with the role focusing on wider aspects, including damage prevention, longstanding, and ensuring excellence in handling, to mitigate revenue leakage, whilst operating at the highest standard internally and towards our customers ( and other external stakeholders)
