The Senior Technical Project Engineer manages technical activities of business and project development up to the _ready-to-build_ status.


The main tasks consist in:

  • Conduct prefeasibility studies, risk assessment and developing technical recommendations for a first screening of potential assets acquisition or participation in SPVs
  • Managing internal/external technical audits and due diligences on renewable energy generation projects and opportunities
  • Support project development team in any technical need required and ensuring internal standards are met
  • Monitoring all technical inputs for the project pipeline database during development stage
  • Perform Resource and Energy Yield Assessment along with reviewing external reports from third parties
  • Estimate and update project CapEx and OpEx in coordination with other departments involved
  • Carry out project LCOE analysis and optimization
  • Prepare, review or improve technical specifications and recommendations for engineering studies
  • Technical support in managing external engineering and service providers
  • Create, improve, and automate internal procedures and tools
  • Being aware of new technologies available in the market
  • Close coordination with EPC Team in all preconstruction stages and preparation of a full project handover when _readyto
- build_ status is achieved

  • Undertake site visits to both new greenfield sites and projects under development


The role responsibility is supporting other business lines in technical requirements and taking decisions based on prefeasibility studies, risk assessment and LCOE optimizations.


Contexto y medio ambiente


TotalEnergies Renewables Ibérica develops, builds and operates renewable projects in Iberia region, either with full ownership or with partners in JVs.

This role involves coordination and technical support to other departments such as Business development, Project development and EPC.

The Senior Technical Project Engineer is responsible of supporting all technical activities in the preconstruction stage within Iberia region. This position requires a high know-how about Solar PV but also knowledge of Wind and Storage technologies.

  • Spain is a priority country for TotalEnergies in Europe. More than 5 GW its portfolio of solar projects under development in Spain by 2025 and positions the Group as a major player in the country's energy transition, contributing to Spain's ambition to generate 70% of its electricity from renewables by 2030 and then 100% by the middle of the century
  • This solar power portfolio will enable the Group to cover all the electricity consumption of its industrial sites in Europe by 2025: to do this, the Group will purchase nearly 6 TWh per year of green electricity generated by its Spanish solar sites through a power purchase agreement covering more than 3 GW of solar farms. This will be the largest corporate PPA in the world
  • Engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience within the solar PV industry working for an EPC Contractor, IPP/Project Developer or Consultancy firm
  • Master's Degree in Engineering with a postgraduate training in Renewable Energies is a plus
  • Strong technical background within the solar PV Industry
  • Experience working during preconstruction stage in LCOE optimization
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and PVsyst required
  • Knowledge of GIS software and renewable energy design software (PVcase, SAM, HOMER Pro, WaSP, WindPRO, etc.) highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Highly selfmotivated, with strong initiative and creative thinking
  • Ability to work with high autonomy and in coordination with other team members
  • Willingness to travel regularly to the project sites
