Your role

This role is an integral part of Digital Realty's EMEA Finance Ops team and will play a pivotal role in achieving the EMEA Finance Ops team's objectives and deliverables.

The primary responsibility of the position is to manage a portfolio of ledgers and legal entities for the Spanish Business (actually 3 legal entities and 4 properties) for monthly group reporting under US-GAAP, leading local statutory reporting, including facilitating annual external audits and maintaining local compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the monthly, quarterly & annual group reporting under US-GAAP for a portfolio of entities
Preparation of bank reconciliations on various legal entities and /or properties
Creation, Maintenance and reconciliations of fixed asset subledger
Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly Intercompany transactions
Participate in the preparation of VAT reporting
Supporting a number of property accountants in other functional areas, such as construction accounting, fixed assets, corporate tax, etc.
Assist with the audit for Group purposes as well as the audit of the IFRS Financial Statements and the local Financial statements for a number of entities across Europe
Participate on standardisation of processes across the P2P, O2C and R2R functions, working with colleagues in Europe, Asia and the US.
Important contribution to the accounting and internal control systems, and the preparation of accurate financial statements.
Work on integration projects and other finance projects
Carry out adhoc tasks as required

What you'll need

23 years' experience in similar roles, in a multinational environment.
Solid Spanish GAAP experience required, US-GAAP and IFRS a plus
Partqualified accountant, while not essential, is an advantage
Understanding & working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley preferable
Strong systems knowledge and intermediate/advanced Excel skills are required
