    CIDETEC Energy Storage is seeking a battery engineer with expertise in mechanical engineering and viscoelastic material properties to work in the Energy Materials Unit. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of porous media mechanics, mechanical modelling, and experimental studies combined with simulations.

    We require a person with project and people management skills, including technical task planning, result analysis, and writing monitoring reports for clients and R&D team leaders.

    The successful candidate will join a state-of-the-art research center focused on sustainability and the circular economy, which has contributed to electrifying Spain's roads and aims for 100% future sustainability.

    In this role, you will contribute to developing advanced battery cell prototypes and work independently according to a defined work plan.

    Your key responsibilities include:

    • Monitoring project scope and progress, optimizing resources, and maximizing results.
    • Managing project documentation, both internal and external, and writing project reports.
    • Analyzing potential improvements during project execution.

    You will also be involved in creating funding documentation, focusing on product/market/results (deadlines, cost, time), and meeting annual plan forecasts.

    Requirements

    We are looking for a highly motivated individual with:

    • Mechanical engineering or related degree.
    • Strong written and spoken English skills.
    • Knowledge in sensors and pressure control systems, mechanical setup development, programming (Python, MatLab, etc.), data acquisition systems, sensorics, research experience, detail-orientation, teamwork, and ability to work independently.

    Desirable qualities

    A placement abroad and more than 3 years' work experience are considered assets.
