About the role


As a
Senior AML Analyst you will take ownership of creating and implementing new AML compliance and onboarding processes, and will also help us to build a compliance culture and awareness across the company.


What you'll do

  • Act as a frontline resource regarding suspicious activity and AML matters.
  • Compliance with regulations and attainment of clientspecific processing requirements.
  • Review and analyze transactions utilizing internal and external systems and tools.
  • Assume the project lead role for the implementation of a new transaction monitoring tool.
  • Provide strategic and legal support in the design of the new merchant onboarding process.
  • Create and implement AML policies and processes of the new payment institution within the group.
  • Prepare external reports/regulatory filings.
  • Recommend improvements to monitoring processes, consumer risk rating, and review investigation routines to improve detection.
  • Participate in the creation of a compliance culture within SeQura by raising awareness across all levels of the company, and providing specific training sessions to the relevant teams.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior AML Analysts.
  • Provide legal support to the KYC analysts team when needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects of the Legal team.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What you'll need ‍**- 7+ years of experience in AML with exposure to KYC, screening and transaction monitoring.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Working experience in either French, Portuguese, Italian, or Spanish markets.
  • Specific and strong training in AML.
  • Banking or Fintech experience in a scaleup company is desirable.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and meticulously analyse complex issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions and remain calm while under pressure, particularly when dealing with challenging situations.
  • A methodical and organized approach to work with strong prioritization skills, an open mind, and the ability to see the ''big picture'' of performed tasks.
  • Ability to communicate in a confident, competent, and diplomatic way with local and international partners/clients.
  • High proficiency in Excel, working with large files and crossreferencing data.
  • Being an individual contributor but also a team player, with the autonomy to create, implement and lead various processes and projects.
  • A strong drive and joy of working in a highpaced operational environment.
  • Proactive, handson, and selfdriven personality.
