**About IRB Barcelona**

IRB Barcelona is a centre of biomedical research excellence, created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the University of Barcelona. It is an international centre that hosts 500 members and 45 nationalities.

Our mission is to conduct research of excellence in biomedicine and transfer results to clinical practice, improving people's quality of life while promoting researcher training, technology transfer, and science communication.

We have 29 laboratories and seven core facilities addressing basic questions in biology, oriented towards diseases such as cancer, metastasis, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and rare conditions.

Postdoctoral Position

We are offering a Postdoctoral Position for a young scientist to join the lab of Dr. Stefanie Wculek. The ideal candidate will be an experienced wet-lab biologist who is curiosity-driven and responsible, with a strong background in innate immune cells and/or cellular metabolism.

The successful candidate will work on projects investigating how innate immune cells adapt to different tissues, including changes in their immunometabolism. Details of the project will be defined together with the candidate, based on their interests.

Responsibilities

Lead and organize projects within the group's scientific scope with the PI.
Conduct high-quality research in collaboration with other team members.
Participate and report results in group meetings and scientific discussions.
Engage in training of junior scientists of the research group.
Write manuscripts together with the PI.

Requirements

PhD in biomedicine or biosciences (ideally completed within no more than 2 years).
Performing and disseminating scientific studies.
Highly motivated and collaborative, with enthusiasm to lead conceptually and technically challenging research projects.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Organized, responsible, and creative.

Working Conditions & Entitlements

Employed in compliance with Spanish legislation and regulations under a full-time contract. Employees receive the benefits of the Spanish Social Security system covering sickness, maternity/paternity leaves, and injuries at work.

Estimated annual gross salary: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
